  The "stan" adventures: part 5 Kazakhstan Day 1: I arrived in Kazakhstan early this morning and immediately took a sight seeing tour of the city . I saw some of the most stunning architecture in the world , from the grand eur of the Kazakh State Museum to the intricate designs of the Central Mosque . I also took a stroll down the vibrant streets of the old town and sampled some of the local cuisine at the many restaurants . It was a great introduction to the country and I can ’ t wait to see what else it has to offer . Day 2: Today I decided to venture out of the city and explore the surrounding countryside . I took a train ride to a small village nearby , and it was an incredible experience . The people I met there were so warm and welcoming , and I even got to sample some of the local delic acies . After checking into my hotel , I set off to explore the city . The sights were breathtaking , with architectural marvel s such as the Reg istan , Gur - e Amir , and Shah - i - Z inda . I also took some time to wander through the city ’ s b aza ars , where I h agg led with locals over prices and sampled some of the delicious local food .
